The family of a 65-year-old Roy Anthony Scott has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.Scott died on March 3, 2019, during an encounter with LVMPD at an apartment complex on El Conlon Avenue. .According to the lawsuit, Scott called police because he believed there were suspicious peopl stanley tumblers e outside of his apartment.However, the situation escalated after police officers arr stanley cupe ived and Scott was eventually placed into custody. The lawsuit also alleges that Scott never received chest compressions from the officers on the scene and it took about 9 minutes for an ambulance to arrive.On March 20, the Clark County coroner ruled his cause of death as methamphetamine intoxication.The lawsuit was filed by Scotts daughter Rochelle Scott and Fredrick Waid, who is the court-appointed co-special administrator of the estate of Roy Scott.The lawsuit also names the two officers who were involved 鈥?Kyle Smith and Theodore Huntsman. SALT LAKE CITY 鈥?The 14-year-old suspect wanted in connection to a deadly Salt Lake City shooting over the weekend has been taken into custody.Police said the juvenile suspect was taken into custody Monday without incident.The boy was wanted after being accused of shooting and killing a 17-year-old in the area of 1601 West Ivy Circle on Saturday night.An investigation into the shooting began after officers responded to the scene and found the 17-year-old with a stanley cup critical gunshot wound. The boy was taken to the hospital where he later died.Police have identified the 17-year-old victim to be Muridthi Hamadi.Because the teenager is now in custody, FOX 13 News will no longer use his photographer or identify him by name.
