The discovery of a 10-year-old girl s body marked the first time since Indiana s Amber Alert system was started two years ago that the missing child being sought was found dead.A state trooper found the body of Katlyn Katie Collman in a stream Sunday, five days after authorities say she apparently accepted a ride from a young man in a truck while returning home from running an errand.The trooper found the body in a wooded area about a quarter of a mile off Interstate 65 about 15 miles north of Crothersville, state police Sgt. Jerry Goodin said. Investigators were awaiting the results of an autopsy scheduled for Monday on the first homicide in 25 years in the town of about 1,500 people some 40 miles north of Louisville, Ky.The alert was issued Thursday, two days after Collman, a fourth-grader at Crothersville Elemen stanley cup tary, was last seen walking from a store abo stanley website ut three blocks from her home after buying toilet paper, investigators said. Crothersville Police Chief Norman Ford said he requested an alert Tuesday night but the case did not meet all the criteria. You may have noticed sweaters tied around trees in the New Port Richey and Port Richey area over the past few weeks. Thats because Good Samaritans are leaving sweaters for people who are homeless, or any families that have a need for warm clothes.Its not freezing outside, but by Florida adidas samba standards, when the temperatures get into the 40s a lot of people are not prepared for the cold. There s a lot of homeless, so it s hoka winterschuhe sad, Melissa Mazzitelli said.Mazzitelli said she saw a lot of sweaters hanging on trees up and down US 19 and also in the area of the Wal Mart near Ridge Road and U.S. 19. She loved the idea so she decided to get some of her warm clothes and hang them as well. I think if everyone did one garment it would help a lot of people, Mazzitelli said. Whether it s a shirt or pair of shorts. Mazzitelli said she was inspired to start hanging sweaters after she realized people were taking them. She saw more and more people posting pictures on the Facebook group she is a part of called Bright Hopes Pasco. I would be really thankful if I came across something like that.
