Halton police are investigating after an alleged distraction theft resulted in a Milton resident being defrauded of around $9,000.On Saturday, Jan. 14, at some point between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., a 70-year-old woman was returning to her vehicle after shopping at the Milton Walmart when she was approached by a man who claimed one of her rear tires had low pressure.Police said the victim had placed her purse on the vehicle drivers seat and then went with the man around the vehicle to look at the tire. While I was in prison, my daughter was born. When I came home she was three and a half. I was gone for four years, said Stewart.聽Stewart would repeat the cycle鈥e went back to the street, then back to prison two more times. A joint investigation between the Oswego County Sheriffs Office, the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office, and the City of Fulton Police Department has resulted in the arrest of a Fulton man who was involved in a murder-for-hire plot.Quentin J. HicksOswego Sheriffs Deputies received information that 42 year old Quentin J. Hicks of 519 Rochester Street in Fulton was trying to hire another man to kill Hicks wife.At the onset of the investigation, Oswego Sheriffs Investigators notified the Onondaga County Sheriffs Office, as the intended victim is a resident of Onondaga County.Also notified was the Fulton City Police Department, as Hicks owns several properties around Fulton and was likely living there.Each agency worked on a different aspect of the investigation, which revealed that items were exchanged between Hicks and another co-conspirator to further the murder of Hicks wife.The case culminated in the arrest of Hicks on June 23, at about 8:50 p.m.聽 Sheriffs Investigators a stanley becher ffected a search warrant of Hicks Rochester Street home.Hicks was charged with Conspiracy in the Second Degree, a Class B felony.
