Its not every day you get to celebrate your 100th birthday. So COVID-19 or not, Jeanne Hamel was determined to have a memorable day.Hamel rang in her second century with a drive-by of family and friends on Sunday afternoon outside th stanley mug e West Hill United church in Scarborough. She said about 75 people stopped by to wish her a happy birthday an stanley cup d share cards. It was a wonderful day, the weather was perfect. The people who organized it had done a terrific job, Hamel told the Star. Lets face it, Im a hugger, said Hamel, who still lives in her own condo in West Hill. Her actual birthday is on Wednesday, but Sunday was more appropriate day for everyone to celebrate.
