This funding will go a long way towards helping to ensure that residents continue to have access to quality recreational opportunities, helping them to enjoy the outdoors, get active and become more involved in their community. One of several parks in the village, Phoenix Memorial Park features fields and courts for recreational activities, including team sports such as softball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard and tennis.Funding secured by Senator Ritchie will help to renovate a building on the property and potentially add locker rooms and restrooms to the structure.Currently, visitors to the park use the restrooms and locker rooms at a nearby school.In addition to building renovations, the village has potential plans to add a small playground for families to the park.
