Kdrg Mother, daughter accused of stealing $65K from Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company
Police have located and arrested the man that was responsible for a homicide that happened on April 6.At a little after 11:15 p.m stanley taza ., Southeast District offi stanley puodelis cers were called to the 2300 block of Jefferson Street because of a shoot stanley water bottle ing. The officers found Tavon Miles, 38, lying on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. Miles was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment, but still ended up dying of his injuries.Homicide detectives were called andwere able to identify and get an arrest warrant for the suspect.So, on Thursday, Jonathan Phifer, 32, of the 2000 block of Fayette Street, was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder and some related weapons violations.Since bail was denied, Phifer will be held until trial. April is Donate Life Month and two women who work to save lives every day shared their story on Wednesday.Carrie Naylor, a paramedic, and Carole Brokos, a nurse, met in the emergency room at the University of Maryland Medical Center while caring for patients. Brokoshada failing liver, but Naylor had no idea until one day it was posted on her Facebook by one of Brokos friends.Naylor did research and found out that she was able to donate half of her liver and decided to seeif she was a match for Brokos.Last May she made the donation at stanley cup UMMC.Brokos says the transplant helped her get on with her life, and allow her to be there for big moments, including the recent birthof her grandchild.Both women were stanley thermoskannen honored at the hospital on Wednesday. The UMMCstaff also held a flag raising ceremony to honor organ and tissue donors and to raise awareness for organ stanley kubek donation as part of Donate Life Month.
