Cdui Conyers: This Is Not An Impeachment Hearing, But Republicans Say Otherwise
Billionaire businessman Bruce Rauner won a competitive Republican gubernatorial primary election in Illinois on Tuesday, taking the fight to embattled incumbent Gov. Pat Quinn, D-Ill., in what promises to be one of the most expensive gubernatorial races stanley cup in the country. Brauner, a hedge-fund manager, fended off a strong challenge from state Sen. Kirk Dillard to claim the nomination, and he immediately began savaging Quinn in his victory speech. [Quinn] has jacked up our real estate taxes while our home values were going down, Rauner said, per the Chicago Tribune. [Quinn] has shredded our social services safety net and he s defunded our schools while thousands of school children are trapped in failing schools. He s a failure. We re gonna get him gone. National Republicans believed Rauner, with his ability to self-fund his bid and his more moderate positions on social issues, was the candidate best positioned to oust Quinn, but the incumbent has prevailed in tough spots before. On Tuesday, after easily clearing his own primary, the governor showcased an aggressive brand of populism, conspicuously promising to fight for an economy that serves everyone, not just the wealthy. A few days ago I wrote a post about The Opinion Makers: An Insider Reveals the Truth Behind the Polls, a new book by David Moore, a former Vice President of the Gallup Organization and Managing Editor of the Gallup Poll. Either Moore managed to find stanley cup a publisher for a book thesis about as obvious as college students like to drink, or else Moore s thesis actually isn t as bog obvious as I think it is. Still, when the poll results are presented, it s hard to dismiss what appear to be scientific measures of the public will. Last

For want of a comma, we have this case, Circuit Court Judge David Barron wrote in the opening line of his opinion.Because of that missing comma, a federal appeals court allowed drivers for a Maine dairy to go forward with their dispute over overtime pay.The particular kind of comma at issue is an Oxford comma, which is th stanley cups e final comma in a list of items. CONGESTION PRICING....Matt Yglesias was touting the virtues of congestion pricing in urban areas earlier today and got some pushback on the grounds that additional fees would hurt poor people more than the rich. I think his answer is about right:Of course the costs of congestion pricing would fall hard on people of modest means, but that s because the cost of anything falls hard on people of modest means. But the whole crux of the argument for congestion pricing is that free roads come with real costs. They cost money to build as would priced roads but on top of that, they impose huge costs in terms of traffic and delays. That cost, is borne by everyone but, again, people of modest means tend to pay the mo stanley quencher st since in search of affordable housing they re pushed the furthest out onto the metropolitan fringe. You ll see the same objection raised in other areas as well, notably from social justice environmentalists who, for example, oppose cap-and-trade schemes because they hurt the poor or, alternately, don t do enough to actively help the poor . It s a perfectly justifiable concern, but when you focus too much on it you end up being p stanley cup aralyzed. You can t do anything that carries an immediate cost, no matter how worthy the cause, because the cost will, inevitably, hurt the poor more than it hurts the rich.Far better, I think, to support things like gas taxes and congestion pricing but insist that some or all of the revenue be earmarked to ameliorate the impact on low stanley mug -incom
