Freight shipments backed up throughout Dalton, Ga., Tuesday morning after a train rammed into another train stopped on its track.Officials said that, about 3:30 a.m., a CSX freight train traveling about 10 mph ran into the back of the second train, derailing several cars and sending five empty shipping containers tumbling into nearby brush.At midmorning, a dozen or so workers and federal inspectors worked to right the large containers, one of which appeared to have sustained major damage. Crews were using cranes to stanley france move the containers back onto the tracks as a handful of tow trucks waited nearby.No injuries occurred and the track was back in operation about 1 p.m., delaying five freight trains during the morning, said stanley tazas Gary Sease, a CSX Corp. spokesman. They found one of the three was wanted on a warrant and they also found $4,957 in cash, several firearms, and almost a quarter pound of methamphetamine with a street value of almost $5,000. Jenny Burris, 23 of Sweetwater, was charged on a warrant with reckless endangerment and with new charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of schedule II drugs for resale, three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. Chattanooga police are expected to park their patrol cruisers today before they head home.But no one is exactly sure where to park.
