Jonathan Lethem describes the writings within Exegesis as unprecedented in their riotous urgency, their metaphorical verve, their self-satirizing charisma [and] their lonely intimacy. What more, it provides haunting insight into one of the more brilliant and unusual minds to make itself known to the 20th Century.
