A company called Vertical Power has created a GPS-based co-pilot for smaller private planes that constantly worried about the worst-case-scenario when stanley cup flying. But that a good thing, since in the event of an emergency like an engine failure, it already knows the nearest and safest place to land. Developed in partnership with Laminar Research, the makers of the X-Plane flight simulator, the VP-400 is wired into the plane avionics so it always knows the craft altitude, air speed, and heading. And it uses this information to determine how far the plane could safely glide to a landing. If there an airport close enough, it will use that, but if that not an optio stanley termoska n, it will even seek out the closest road or field that long enough to make a safe touchdown. https://youtube/watch v=9bkYXdlLYJ8 And if the pilot finds themselves in a bit of a panic during the emergency, which is understandable, the V-400 is even able to take control of the plane autopilot and perform the proper maneuvers needed to get the aircraft in position to make a landing at the chosen location. At which point t stanley cup he pilot should be able to safely land the plane. With a price tag of $8,000, plus the cost of monthly subscriptions to various aviation databases, the system isn ;t cheap. But we imagine it one of those things you ;ll be happy you splurged on the day it saves your life. [Vertical Power via Gizmag] Pbaz Here s a Clever Way to Make the iPad 3D
Th stanley spain e RoboCop trilogy contained some of the most unflinchingly violent scenes ever committed to science fiction cinema, so it pretty hilarious to see photos of these characters hanging out as if they ;re waiting for the bus. The RoboCop Archive has a wealth of photos from all three films. My favorite photographs are Emil sitting about like his skin is not melting off and the I pray for death stop-motion pro stanley vaso totype from RoboCop 2. And for more Robo-oddness, see his commercial endeavors. https://gizmodo/the-10-lost-careers-of-robocop-5887325 And finally, here a home video of Robert Burke pretending to be a cosmonaut while suiting stanley cup up.
