Whether it was a cloud-based solution or a local NAS, the upload speeds were horrendous or the software was just plain ugly and confusing to use. But a couple of former Mozy employees have convinced stanley cup me otherwise. Say hello to Space Monkey. The way Space Monkey and its two co-founders Alen Peacock and Clint Gordon-Carroll describe the service is that it vaso stanley basically brings the cloud to your home. Twenty of those are erasure coded, with the other twenty being parity pieces. So rather than relying on a central data center, the individual Space Monkeys create a network-based data center for your virtual goods. This solves a couple problems inherent with existing backup solutions and is pretty genius in practice. In its bid to compete with traditional cable offerings on even footing, YouTube has reached agreements with more than 100 producers to provide exclusive video content to the site. YouTube is aiming to create dedicated, broadcast-quality channels from these providers鈥攊ncluding Reuters, the WSJ, Slate, The Onion, Ashton Kutcher, and Shaquille O ;Neal. According to reports, Google laid out $100 million in advances to the providers stanley uk and will likely make that money back through鈥攕urprise, surprise鈥攁d sales.
