WASHINGTON -- The Trump administration called Tuesday for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to step down. For the safety and security of all the peoples of Latin America, it is time for Maduro to go, said the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley during a speech on Latin America. I am not sure how we will make that happen but I know that we can t stop, she said right after her speech during a conference organized by the Council of the Americas. We have to continue to isolate Maduro until he gives in. Haley said the people of the South American country are unwilling victims of a criminal narco-state and asserted the May 20 elections in which Maduro is seeking re-election will be fraudulent if independent observers are absent. The Venezuelan embassy did not immediately respond to a request for comment. On Monday, stanley cup Vice President Mike Pence urged members of the 35-nation Organization of American States to suspend Venezuela. Quoting numbers from the United Nations, Haley said that 1.5 million Venezuelans have fled their co stanley cups untry since 2014 and described the exodus as the largest displacement of people in the region s history. The Venezuelan government has refused to allow international aid, alleging that would amount to foreign intervention. The South American nation also denies there is an ongoing humanitarian crisis. Updated at 10:15 p.m. ETIn a prime time press conference Wednesday night, President Obama said he cannot guarantee that health care reform will not bring about any changes in how patients receive insurance or care. The changes that occur, though, should be for the better, he said. Can I guarantee there are going to be no changes in the health care delivery system No, Mr. Obama said. The whole point is to try to encourage changes that work for the American people and make them healthier. Mr. Obama said decisions about what treatments deserve to be insured should be made by doctors and medical professionals. That s not how it s working right now, the president said, adding that insurance companies often mak cups stanley e those decisions now. The president also touted the proposal for a government stanley taza -sponsored insurance plan, or public option, as a way to bring about positive changes and keep costs down. There had been reports just over the last couple of days of insurance companies making record profits... and premiums are going up, Mr. Obama said. What s the constraint on that ...Well, part of the way is to make sure that there s some competit vaso stanley ion out there. The president s press conference followed days of aggressive promotion of his health care agenda in television interviews and online. In tonight s address, Mr. Obama tied the country s economic future to health care reform. Read Mr. Obama s full prepared remarks here. Let

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is considering downsizing its detention capacity and releasing thousands of migrants from custody due to a budget shortfall that Congress has so far refused to address, a senior agency official told CBS News Wednesday.Wit stanley taza hout sufficient funding, officials could be forced to release between 4,000 and 6,000 migrants from long-term immigration detention centers, according to the official, who requested anonymity to discuss internal cost-saving plans.ICE oversees a network of county jails and for-profit stanley cup prisons across the U.S. to detain migrants it is seeking to deport, such as those who cross the southern border illegally or immigrants transferred to the agency after being charged or convicted of crimes. As of the end of January, ICE was detaining more than 38,000 immigrants, most of them recent border-crossers, agency data show. As part of a massive emergency funding request, the Biden administration late last year asked Congress for billions of dollars to fund ICE operations, including deportations, arrests, detention beds and migrant tracking technology. But Republicans in Congress blocked those funds and an accompanying bipar vaso stanley tisan border policy agreement forged by the White House and a small group of senators, saying the deal mdash; which included drastic limits on asylum mdash; was not strict enough. PAY ATTENTION!....Conservative apostate Bruce Bartlett explains how he got snookered by George Bush:My own excuse for not predicting the disaster that Bush s presidency has been is that I simply didn t believe a word he said during the 2000 campaign. I assumed that every word out of his mouth h stanley quencher ad been put there by Karl Rove and it was all based on polling and focus groups. I knew that Bush is a bit of a dim bulb, so it never occurred to me that he actually had any ideas of his own.....My point is that it is very easy to get cynical about politics and think it is all a game. That was the mistake I made in 2000, along with lots of other people. If we don t want to make the same stanley us mistake again, all of us who comment on politics need to pay closer attention to what these guys are saying and make some allowance for the possibility that they actually believe it.It s an interesting thought. What if we actually took presidential candidates at their word and quit playing the game of looking for ulterior motives in everything they do Polls, interest group pandering, desire to show toughness, looking forward to the general election, etc. That would eliminate about 90% of all political punditry and about 99% of it on TV , but I m sure we d all find something else to do with all that free time. It s so crazy it might work! starbucks stanley cup ponent--type-recirculation .item:nth-child 5 display: none; inline-re
