CBS News Samoa Airlines made headlines earlier this month when it began charging passengers based on their weight. Currently, women are barred from from certain infantry and ground combat units. But as CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports, the policy is at odds with battlefield reality.Lt. Dawn Halfaker was barred from serving alongside men in ground combat when she went to Iraq in 2004 as commander of a military police platoon. But that didn t keep her out of the fighting.Halfaker: I was on the front lines every day for five months. Martin: You were busting down doors Halfaker: Literally yes. We were literally busting down doors. Martin: You were doing all of the combat operations of an infantryman, it sounds like.
