VICTORIA 鈥?A lawyer from Nova Scotia with experience investigating the actions of police is the new head of British Columbia police watchdog agency.Ron MacDonald was named as the chief civilian director of the Independent Investigations office on Thursday. The office probes all cases where police in B.C. are involved in a death or serious injury.He previously held a similar role as head of the Serious Incident Response Team in Nova Scotia. Admission is free for YMCA members and $5 for non-members.As part of the Trunk-or-Treat event, families can register to pick up one of 35 pumpkins for decorating. Decorated pumpkins returned by Friday, October 23 will be entered into the competition at Trunk-or-Treat to find the best decorated pumpkin. The winner will receive a prize.Pumpkins will be available for pickup on Tuesday, October 20.
