Bowling Green Parks and Recreation hosted several adaptive sports at Western Kentucky University on Wednesday.They have hosted these sports for five years, not only bringing awareness to the community, but allowing people with physical disabilities to be a part of several sports.They offer sports like wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis stanley cup and adaptive swimming. Today, players participated in goalball, sit volleyball and international soccer starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. It creates a more inclusive society, it creates more of an accessible community, and sports and recreation is kind of the avenue that we do that, again it helps people see whats possible in the can and not the cant, the abilities above the disabilities, said Cameron Levis, of BG Parks and Recreation. That just leads to a more inclusive society, and we are using parks and recreation and sport to do that and its a really fun thing to do each day.
