Photo provided by Janet Clerkin.PHOENIX, NY 鈥?Thanks to a grant from the Stewarts Shops Community Giving Program, the Oswego County Pioneers Search and Rescue Team has partnered with Friends of Great Bear Springs Recreation Area to install 50 new directional signs at Great Bear.The signs were recently placed at trail intersections at the popular recreation area to direct people back to the parking lot.Aaron Albrecht, director of the Oswego County volunteer search team, said the team has been activated several times to look for lost people at Great Bear, and wan stanley botella ted to help out by applying for a grant for more trail signs. The extensive trail system at Great Bear receives a lot of usage year-round, Albrecht said. There are more than 11 miles of trails, and people who ar vaso stanley ent familiar with the area can get confused if they dont have a map.
