A study published in Scientific Reports reveals that suitable habitats for Asian elephants across Asia have reduced by over 64%, equivalent to 3.3 million square kilometers, since 1700. The research, led by Shermin de Silva, evaluated changes in Asian elephant ecosystems in 13 countries from 850 to 2015.
