A a 37-year-old Edgewater man, Charles Daniel Connors,was found guilty by an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court jury of theft between $10,000 and $100,000, as well as 50 more counts related to a check forgery scheme, said Anne Arundel County State s Attorney Wes Adams. Mr. Connors commited the kind of crime that could happen to anyone, and each and every time he forged and cashed one of those 17 stolen checks, he re-victimized the homeowner, said Adams. This was an egregious abuse of the victim s trust and deserved to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The investigation stemmed from a Dec. 28, 2016 report of chec stanley cup k fraud. A victim informed police that he had hired Connors as a handyman, and that Connors was permitted to to go inside the house unattended. Two men are behind bars charged in the shooting death of a 13-year-old girl.Iyanna Nachae Watkins, 13, was shot and killed last July and two other men were hurt. Police said two men started firing i stanley cup nto a crowd.On Friday, Detectives arrested and charged Alphonso Smith, III, 19, stanley flask and Roger Eastmond, Jr., 19, with her murder and attempted murder.The shooting happened just before midnight on July 31, 2017 in the 700 block of Peterson Road.Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument between Smith and a friend of the two adult victims.After the fight, Smith told the group he d be back. Later that night, police said Smith and Eastmondfound the victims with a group of people sitting behind t stanley termosy he 7-Eleven store on Peterson Road.The two men started shooting into the crowd and hit three people, including 13-year-old Watkins.Detectives say she was not the intended target.Eastmond and Smith are being held at the Baltimore County Departmentof Corrections on denied bail status.
