This week is National Travel and Tourism Week.聽 This is an annual thing. Every year the U.S. Travel Association puts together a national travel and tourism week the first week of May and its always got a fun theme to it. This years theme is the future of travel and its very very bright here in Bowling Green thats for sure. Popular places to visit in Bowling Green include Lost River Cave, Beech Bend, and the Corvette Museum.聽Each day this week, the city is recognizing a different local attraction for its unique characteristics.And theres lots to celebrate during this week鈥?things look a lot brighter than stanley mug they did two years ago when the pandemic hit.聽 In March 2020, tourism and hospitality were the first industries kind of hit the hardest. Because travel stopped, everything closed stanley water bottle . Hotels were stanley cup only at 20 to 30 percent occupancy鈥hen they should have been around 80 percent.聽People in the tourism industry say were getting back to pre-pandemic levels, likely to even exceed them. I feel almost like things that were already busy, events, sports events, special events, here in town, are back with a vengeance, people are ready to go out, travel. And with the entertainment destination center set to open this summer, tourism is sure to hit new records here in Bowling Green.
