Bowling Green water system dates back to the late 1880s and since they, technology has come a long way, and of course BGMU has changed with the times.Gardner said pipes have gone from lead to galvanized cast iron to the safest option, PVC and the city wants to move toward ways to secure water quality in the future with moves such as replacing pipe.Gardner said currently, BGMU is working on identifying where old galvanized pipes are and hope to replace all old pipes by the end of 2024.
